How to do SEO for Blogspot

  1. Provide a custom meta description in every single post you publish. Blogger makes it very easy to add a custom description: simply add 2–3 lines in the description box on the right sidebar while publishing a new post.

  2. Add keywords to your post content. You should try to maintain at least 2–3% keyword density in your post. This means that in a 500-word post you can include 10–15 keywords.

  3. Choose custom permalinks for your posts. Format your post URL so that it describes your post and includes the necessary keywords. It should not be very long, but not too short either — aim for around 50 characters.

  4. Format your post title tag. This helps your post stand out among the other search results. Go to Edit HTML from your blog template, search for <title><data:blog.pagetitle/></title> and replace it with the code below:

  1. Optimize your blog images. Add a title and alt tag to every image. This helps a lot in SEO. You can simply click on an image in edit mode and set them in its properties.

  2. Use proper labels in your posts. Labels should be unique and descriptive. Add at least 3–5 unique labels closely related to your post with every post you publish.

  3. Add the nofollow attribute to all the external links you mention in your post.

  4. Add meta tags (description and keywords) to your blog template.

  5. Build links. Link building is very important for SEO — earn quality backlinks from sites in your niche through guest posts and genuine engagement.
